Question - Is Fixed Long Island part of a big National company?

Answer - No, we are 100% Long Island founded, based and focused.

Question - What happens to my information if I use this site? 

Answer - We do not sell homeowner or business owner information.  It is not our business model.

Question - How does this site make money?

Answer - Contractors pay a single monthly listing fee to be included in the Directory.   They can choose a plan that best suits their specific needs from Basic to Advanced.   People in need in service are not charged to use the site.

Question - If I use this site will I be bothered by telemarketers?

Answer - No, because we don't produce lead lists or sell them to anyone.

Question - Do contractors "own the categories" in the directory?

Answer - No, the directory is about providing choices.   Position in the directories is on a first come, first served basis.   There are no exclusivity agreements to "protect" categories.

Question - Are there long term contracts and lock-ins?

Answer - No, any trade owner can cancel if they choose to.   There are however incentives in place to encourage prepayment and long term residency in the directory.

Question - What was the inspiration for starting Fixed Long Island?

Answer - Our founder believes that the need for the trades will never disappear even as technologies like AI become more prevalent.   Curation and organization by categories is a cleaner experience than struggling and searching around on Google or Facebook groups if need help with your property.   Our founder is extremely interested in Property Maintenance and comes from a family who were craftsmen themselves generations ago.   As they say it runs in the blood.

 

Question - Why do tradesmen need technology support now more than ever?

Answer - As technologies like AI continue to evolve they will need a local partner that can guide them, while at the same time pricing services fairly and most importantly allowing them to focus on delivering their services (not becoming IT gurus (unless they want to).

Answer - To become an extremely valuable resource for homeowners, property owners and our trade partners.
